MBA WINE AND FOOD EVENT
WHO ARE YOU WEARING?
MARGATE, N.J. – The 10th Annual Wine and Food Event, a unique fundraising experience that pairs fine wine with inspired hors d’oeuvres and chocolate, is set for Tuesday April 17h from6-8pm at Steve & Cookie’s By the Bay here, the Margate Business Association (MBA) has announced. Tickets are $50.
Gary Dee, aka Joan Rivers will greet guests on the red carpet with a complimentary gift and no doubt ask, “Can we talk? Who are you wearing?” The female impersonator gets raves inthe musical review, Believe – Divas in a Man’s World at Resorts Atlantic City and will lend his talents to the event that benefits the MBA Daniel and Maria Walters Scholarship Program and the MBA Children’s Fund – a needs-based program for Margate school children.
“This years’ event is going to be amazing,” says Anna Maria Blescia-Courter, Executive Director of the MBA. “The addition of a talent like Gary’s brings an exciting and celebrityesque element to the night. Not only will arriving guests get a gift but they’ll feel like they’re in Hollywood.” Another unique aspect of the event is that participants will actually be able to simply score the various wines they sample. Participants who select the most wines ranked number one by distributors will win a prize.
The evening will also feature a silent auction. Among the centerpieces are an Apple Vacation 4 or 5 Night Stay in Cancun or Punta Cana, Dusk at Caesars Atlantic City Bottle & Free Room Package, massages, dining, art and a Margate Bridge 250-trip toll card.
“This event has become one of the most anticipated food and wine experiences of the spring,” Blescia-Courter says. “And it wouldn’t be possible without the participation of our outstanding sponsors and committee: Paula and Dana Hartman of the Hartman Home team, Anna Marie Carr of Jagielky’s of Margate Homemade Chocolates and Cookie Till owner of Steve and Cookies, who helped put the event together. “
